The Queen Was in the Parlour

''The Queen Was in the Parlour: a romance in three acts'' is a play by the English writer Noël Coward. Belonging to the Ruritanian romance genre, its title is drawn from a line in the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence. Although written in 1922, it was not produced until 24 August 1926, when it premiered at the St Martin's Theatre.〔(''The New Cambridge bibliography of English literature'', Volume 5, 925 )〕
==Adaptations==

It has been adapted for film three times - the first two times under its original title (in 1927 as a silent movie and in 1928 as a talking picture) and the third time as ''Tonight Is Ours'' in 1933.
